Provosoiva vai kesytetty Jeesus?

Robert Baron on julkaissut taas oikein hyvän videon aiheenaan provosoiva Jeesus - ks. tästä. Luin jokin aika sitten Amy-Jill Levinen (hän on kuuluisa amerikanjuutalainen Jeesus-tutkija) kirjan The Misunderstood Jew: The Church and the Scandal of the Jewish Jesus. Loistavassa kirjassaan Levine mm. toteaa näin: “To understand Jesus, he must be seen as provocative enough both to prompt some to leave their homes and families and to follow him and to prompt others to regard him as insane or demon possessed. This means, at the very least, that his message is not an easy one to follow. Jesus demanded of his followers an economic overhaul and a nonviolent response to injustice. The former is at best impractical; the latter is psychologically difficult. Neither is beyond the competencies of most individuals, but Jesus asked for even more. A domesticated Jesus whose primary role is to make one “feel good” or “feel saved” is not a Jewish Jesus - not a historical Jesus.”
